Design elements (cont'd):
  • The wainscot cap moulding profile
As the name implies, the wainscot cap moulding completes the wainscot assembly while at the same time adding visual interest. Two-piece cap mouldings will add more visual "weight" to the top of the wainscot and can often be matched to a particular panel and/or framing profile i.e., ogee panel, framing and two-piece cap moulding detail.

  • The raised panel and framing profiles
The combination of framing and panel profiles will ultimately determine the sentiment of your finished paneling. As a visually distinctive design element, the panel profile will define the paneling style, i.e., formal, classical, eclectic, etc. As the smallest component of your design, the framing profile modestly compliments the panel profile and completes the overall ensemble.
