Danbury Creek wainscot plays a significant role among the architectural elements within a room. In modern homes that lack considerable detail, the crisp textures of Danbury Creek may serve as a focal point upon which other design considerations can be made. Conversely, within a historic or otherwise richly detailed space, Danbury Creek wainscot may function as a design accessory to a room's more prominent features.

To begin the design process, familiarize yourself with the various components that make-up a historically accurate frame and panel wainscot.

The overall impression of your paneling can vary greatly based upon your choice of several design elements. These design elements include:
  • The finished height of the wainscot
The height of your wainscot may be influenced by several factors including the overall size and ceiling height of the room to be paneled. Danbury Creek wainscot is offered in three common heights and a two-tiered panel layout to accommodate a variety of design requirements. In addition, we routinely craft wainscot to customer specified heights other than those shown.

  • The height of the wainscot bottom rail
The height of our "standard" bottom rail measures 6". We also offer an 8¼" bottom rail for those who wish to reapply a baseboard after installing their wainscot. As always, other custom bottom rail heights are available.

  • The relative width of the raised panels within your wainscot (narrow, medium, wide)
The relative width of the raised panels within your wainscot should be based upon personal preference and the scale of the room. Larger, more expansive rooms may be better served by medium and wider panels to avoid a cluttered appearance.
